Community Features

When friends are waiting at the bus stop, it's a little easier for everyone to get up. Which helps explain why gathering at the school bus stop is one of the social highlights of the day at McKay's Mill. You see, everything we've done in putting together this great neighborhood is all about bringing people together -- and that's the definition of "community." So whether you're enjoying  the community clubhouse, swimming in the pool, walking the trails, or simply waiting for the bus to arrive -- you'll discover a new sense of "community" at McKay's Mill.

Clubhouse

The community boasts an Olympic-size pool, children's play area, gathering spots with picnic tables, and cozy gazebos. One of the highlights is the 5,000 square foot community center equipped to provide fun and enjoyment for kids of every age. Inside you'll find a complete health club with workout and changing rooms, as well as meeting facilities. In fact, at McKay's Mill residents enjoy a vacation without ever leaving the neighborhood!

Pool

The first thing you'll notice about the swimming pool is how big it is. The official term is "competition size," but nothing really competes with it. So whether it's a game of Marco Polo with the kids or a quiet, early morning workout all by yourself, the pool is sure to provide fun and exercise for the whole family, summer after summer after summer.

Trails & Lakes

The pace of life seems to slow down a bit when you can walk wherever you need to go. The elaborate trail system at McKay's Mill connects each neighborhood to natural and newly-created amenities, including a proposed Towne Center with retail and office space and on-site daycare. Miles of multi-purpose pathways will get you out of the car and back into nature -- wandering through the forested slopes, creeks, lakes and hilltops of over 70 acres of open space. Best of all, you'll see familiar, friendly faces wherever you go -- on bike, on blade, or on foot.
